Artifact #1 for 21st Century Educational Leadership

We were asked to create a half day mock schedule for our school.  I really enjoyed doing this assignment as we never really get the opportunity to design something that we would be using or would like to use.  I prefer being able to learn from other teachers who have also been in the trenches and are still teaching who understand some of the obstacles we face.

Friday, April 20, 2017 –  7:15 am to 12:35 pm

7:15-7:45 am Welcome Breakfast - All Staff - Commons at Main

We will start the day with a breakfast bar, including fruit, muffins juices, and coffee

Welcome Introduction Speakers: 7:45-8:30

8:30-8:45 Break

8:45 to 9:15 Connect to a Digital Learning Framework using the 4 C’s As we move towards 1:1 and student centered classrooms, it is crucial for educators to embrace change and start to modify instructional practices to empower students to be future ready. With a device in their hands, students can take ownership of their learning and work individually and collaboratively as teachers facilitate an engaging classroom environment. This session will allow teachers to explore the use of 1:1 with components of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

9:30 - 11:45am Concurrent Sessions

These sessions will run four times this morning.

I: 9:30-10am II: 10:05-10:35am    III: 10:40-11:10am IV: 11:15-11:45am

Band room Connect to a Digital Learning Framework New tips for Google Classroom and forms will be presented by Bill and Karen

Choir Room Interactive Experiences-Hyperdocs Creating and utilizing a HyperDoc in class provides endless opportunities for critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity. Presented By Steve

Orchestra Room Connections to Content Creating, implementing, and assessing digital portfolios is a great way to curate and evaluate student skills and learning outcomes. Collaborate with peers as you design a portfolio that is useful for giving students a voice as well as monitoring and assessing growth throughout the year.

Large Forum room Malcolm Knowles' theory of andragogy and the adult learner Why it’s important for us, as teacher, to continue to be lifelong learners and what challenges we face as learners.

11:45-12:35 pm Opportunities for Discussion

Department and PLC Team Time

This session is designed for departments and PLC Teams to debrief the first two weeks of school with a particular emphasis on 1:1 technology. What have we learned? Where are you going?
